Hope Is The Thing With Feathers- listen

This is one of our favorite Fenno compositions. To listen, please click here. Judy Caldwell and Kyle Pruett are the soloists. This selection is from their CD, I'll Sing and Ever Shall.

  1. I was driving back to NC from Indiana this weekend, listening on XM to tributes to Richard Hickox, and they played a recording of Brahms' Alto Rhapsody with Janet Baker that made me weep for the joy of music. I wanted then and want now to write this to Fenno and Carol and all who care for them that I am ever in their debt for the gift of song that fills my heart and my days. If you saw me yesterday walking home from the office, you would laugh: the radio was playing Saint-Saens 4th piano concerto, and I was singing along with the great melody of the last movement, at the top of my lungs, in that very untrained tenor Fenno once declared as "not bad, for an accompanist". Your song, Fenno, is in my heart today. (Rob Ulery, '66)
